Leeds United confirm coaching set-up for Man United clash and announce press conference

Leeds United have confirmed that the trio of Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will be in the dugout for the club's Premier League clash against Manchester United following Jesse Marsch's sacking on Monday afternoon.

Leeds parted ways with Marsch following a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Steve Cooper's side ensured that the Whites are still without a win in the top flight since November.

Despite bolstering the squad with four new signings under the American last month they are now looking for a new head coach to lead the side for the remainder of the season. The first of a Premier League doubleheader against Man United on Wednesday night will come too soon for any potential new Leeds head coach, the club have now confirmed.

Instead, supporters will see a trio of backroom staff replace Marsch for the game against Erik ten Hag's men, including new assistant coach and former Man United coach Armas.

"Following the announcement of the departure of head coach Jesse Marsch earlier today, Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will take training at Thorp Arch on Tuesday and will be in the dugout for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford," a statement from the club read.

It is a step-up for Skubala, who was appointed as the club’s under-21 head coach last summer, as he is joined by development coach Gallardo.

Armas only joined the backroom staff at Leeds in January, but has been thrown straight into the deep end when the Whites line-up against the Red Devils on Wednesday night.

The club have also confirmed that Skubala will undergo their pre-match press duties, with a press conference to take place on Tuesday afternoon.
