Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani 'already withdrawn' from Inter Milan takeover race

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has 'already withdrawn' from a prospective takeover bid at Inter Milan. That is according to Inter Live via Sport Witness, with suggestions the asking price for the cash-strapped Serie A giants has deterred the Italian businessman.

Radrizzani has been strongly linked with a buyout of the Champions League semi-finalists in recent weeks. The 48-year-old was reported to be considering a sale of his shares at Elland Road, before forming a consortium to complete a takeover at Inter.

However, Radrizzani has now been distanced from a blockbuster deal, with the latest report suggesting the Investcorp fund are the only potential buyers left in the running. The latest news comes as the well-documented proposed takeover by minority shareholders 49ers Enterprises hangs in the balance, as the Whites fight to preserve their Premier League status.

Sam Allardyce's side sit two points adrift of safety with three matches remaining, with a home clash against Newcastle United up next. The Daily Mail last month claimed the agreed takeover price of £420 million expires in January next year, and the American investors would drop their valuation to £150m should Leeds drop down to the Championship.

Other reports have also suggested that should Leeds be relegated, Radrizzani would look to stay with the club in the hope of masterminding an immediate return to the Premier League.
