Leeds United boss's Brenden Aaronson claim as midfielder's desire is revealed

Leeds United supporters will see a more clinical Brenden Aaronson in the future with the US international tipped to weigh in with a greater contribution of goals. That's the message from head coach Javi Gracia, who is tipping the 22-year-old for RB Salzburg player to have a greater impact on this Whites side moving forward after hailing him for giving Leeds the balance they need.

While there is probably a wide held belief among supporters Aaronson has had a somewhat difficult transition to the Premier League football, the midfielder has played in 28 of Leeds' 29 league games this season, starting all but three of those matches. Entrusted with a key role under former manager Jesse Marsch, Aaronson has started every game of the Gracia era and is expected to take up an important role again when the side host Crystal Palace on Sunday.

A stick used to beat Aaronson with is his lack of goals from midfield. Having failed to score since his effort in the 3-0 victory over Chelsea back in August, it's a long drought but Gracia is not worried, despite achnowledging it's something the player is aware he needs to rectify.

"I think Brendan is concerned about trying to score goals to score more goals for the team, but he's doing a great job for the team.," said Gracia, when asked to sum up the current contribution of his midfielder.

"He is playing in between the lines, creating play and helping a lot in defensive work as well. That is the balance we need. When we are defending we need all of them having the same mentality like Brendon has. And when we are attacking as well.

"We will try in the future in the future to to give him more skills to to finish better, to score more goals and to be more clinically with the chances he has, but is something that is coming because he has the right attitude. I'm sure of that."
