Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch's blunt response to striker links and Daniel James' exit

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch batted away all transfer questions at his Thursday press conference amid increasing rumours Wales star Daniel James will leave the club today.

With the clock ticking down to tonight's 11pm deadline, Marsch faced the press with Leeds active in the market.. James has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent days, with Tottenham, Everton and Leicester City said to be interested in his services.

And reports emerged Thursday lunchtime stating the former Swansea City man was poised to move to Fulham on a season-long loan move. The Elland Road outfit are lining up a move for Marseille's Bamba Dieng as James' potential replacement after missing out on Cody Gakpo and Hwang Hee-chan from PSV and Wolves respectively.

But Marsch was extremely coy when quizzed on ins and outs before the window shuts tonight.

When asked about transfers, the American replied : "No comment because there is so much going on at Elland Road."

Prompted over how the last few hours may play out at Elland Road, he responded: "Victor (Orta) is active. Different discussions about strikers. Not sure how it will play out. Haven't had an update yet."

And of James' potential exit, he replied: "Don't want to comment either."

James' move to Leeds last summer from Manchester United saw him turn out more than 30 times for the Whites last term, scoring four times.
