Leeds United backed to win 'huge' Nottingham Forest clash in Premier League relegation battle

Leeds United have been backed by both Chris Sutton and Mark Lawrenson to win a "huge" Premier League relegation clash with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.

The Whites will be looking to put Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Arsenal behind them when they walk out at Elland Road to face up with Forest for the second time this season. A 1-0 loss at the City Ground saw Jesse Marsch sacked back in February, as Javi Gracia now looks to go one better than his predecessor and claim all three points.

Steve Cooper's side are without a win since that victory over Leeds as the Forest boss comes into the game facing increased scrutiny over his tenure at the club following the recent departures of Patrick Vieira, Brendan Rodgers, Antonio Conte and Graham Potter.

Ahead of what will no doubt be a nail-biting game of football, here's what the pundits think will happen when Leeds take on Forest on Tuesday evening.

Chris Sutton - BBC Sport

Writing in his latest BBC Sport column, Sutton said: "This is a huge game for both clubs, but particularly Nottingham Forest - they have not won since they beat Leeds at the City Ground on 5 February, seven games ago.

"I've mentioned my relegation 'worryometer' before and Forest still worry me, a lot. I can't put my finger on why their away form is so bad, but it really is terrible. They have the worst record in the top flight, with one win and six points in total from 13 games on the road.

"It's a blow for Leeds to be without Willy Gnonto and Tyler Adams, who are both injured, but the home crowd will be really up for this and I fear for Forest at Elland Road."

Score prediction: Leeds United 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Mark Lawrenson - Paddy Power

Lawrenson told Paddy Power: "Leeds had a free hit at Arsenal because the world and his wife knew that they were going to lose that. Nottingham Forest, they drew 1-1 and they haven’t won for a while.

"The owner was in the changing room after the game and that’s never a good sign. If Forest get turned over at Leeds, which I think they will do, we could be up to 14 sackings for the season in the Premier League."

Score prediction: Leeds United 2-1 Nottingham Forest
