Leeds United attacker set for loan exit with Championship duo keen to get deal done

Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts is reportedly set for a loan exit with Hull City and Queens Park Rangers interested. That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who claim Roberts is set to be allowed to leave this summer with QPR currently fronting the queue for his signature.

A loan with a potential permanent option upon promotion appears the most likely scenario at this stage, and a deal could be tied up as early as next week ahead of Leeds’ pre-season trip to Australia. Roberts made 23 appearances in the Premier League last season, though several of those came as a substitute.

He scored just one goal and provided as many assists across the campaign, with end product having been the downfall of his spell at Leeds so far. A serious hamstring injury picked up against Leicester City in March also meant Roberts was unable to have any sort of impact under Jesse Marsch and with a striker and winger at the top of Leeds’ summer list of priorities, opportunities may be sparse.

The prospect of regular game time will undoubtedly be appealing to Roberts, particularly given that he will be looking to represent Wales at the World Cup later this year. He is one of a number of Leeds youngsters set to be granted loan moves to the Championship ahead of the upcoming season.

Charlie Cresswell is closing in on a move to Millwall, while a number of clubs including Reading are keen on Jamie Shackleton. Liam McCarron also completed a permanent move to Stoke City earlier this week.
