Leeds transfer rumours as price tag set for target, Whites want Serie A striker

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Thursday, November 3.

Noah Okafor

Red Bull Salzburg want at least €30-35 million for Switzerland centre-forward Noah Okafor, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato. Okafor has been linked with a move to Leeds over the past two months, although AC Milan and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.

Okafor is set to leave Salzburg next June, or when his contract expires in the summer of 2024, and the striker has opened up on his future amid growing speculation surrounding his next destination.

“It’s a very strong team [AC Milan]. We are talking about a great club, with a legendary history,” Okafor told Calciomercato.

“Whether it’s England, Spain, Italy or Germany, each league has a particular charm. The same goes for individual clubs. When there is something concrete we will evaluate all together, analysing the various factors.”

Okafor has scored nine goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this term, including three goals in six Champions League matches. A centre-forward will be one of the main priorities for Leeds when the transfer window reopens in January, after their failure to land an experience goal scorer in the summer.

Boulaye Dia

Leeds are reportedly set to join West Ham United and Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Senegalese forward Boulaye Dia. Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Tottenham previously failed to reach an agreement with Villarreal for Dia, who joined Salernitana in the summer on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Gazetta dello Sport (via Sports Witness ) have claimed that Salernitana are expected to pay €12 million to make his stay permanent next summer, before selling him on for at least €16-17 million. Forest and West Ham have retained their interest in the 25-year-old, and are expected to be joined by Leeds in the battle for his signature.

Dia revealed in an interview with Get French Football News in 2020 that his dream is to play in the Premier League. “I’d like to experience England and the Premier League – all the players dream of playing in the Premier League one day, and I’m one of those players,” he said.

The striker started his career in the fourth-tier of French football at Jura Sud. He was scouted by Stade Reims after scoring 15 goals in 21 games during his debut season in senior football, and went onto score 28 goals in 88 games in Ligue 1.

Dia left France to join Villarreal in 2021 but was allowed to leave on loan after a return of just seven goals in 35 appearances for the Yellow Submarine last term. He has rediscovered his goal scoring form in Italy – netting five goals in 11 league appearances in Serie A for Salernitana.
