Leeds tipped to sign Liverpool man alongside former loanee in summer transfer window

Following this season's struggles with squad depth at Elland Road, it is a crucial summer for Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta as they hope to build a squad which can stand up to the stresses of a Premier league season.

There are plenty of names on the market and lots who are yet to emerge as the cards begin to fall into place. As with most Premier League clubs, there will me millions to spend, but it may not come close to the £100 million spent in their first Premier League summer two years ago.

Here is a rundown of the Lilywhites' potential summer transfer business at Elland Road, with some names for fans to get excited about.

Alexandre Lacazette (20/1)

Given Patrick Bamford's struggles for form this season, Leeds could well be looking at a cheap alternative to the Englishman and one name who could come into the frame is Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman is available on a free after a difficult season for goals at the Emirates this season. He has, however, scored plenty in previous season and was entrusted with the captaincy at times last season.

He is an experienced Premier League player and as a result has been linked with a move to many English clubs including West Ham, Newcastle and Southampton, but former club Lyon are the current favourites with odds of 2/1 to sign the 31-year old France international.

Adama Traore (12/1)

The former Wolves man re-joined former club Barcelona in January and looked to have been a good signing for the Catalan club, but after an electric start his form fell off with old criticisms with regards to his inconsistency coming to the fore.

He is, however, a talented player and can operate all down the right-hand side of the pitch, a position where Leeds are thought to be in the market for a new signing.

Spurs were in the market for the Spaniard's signature in January and look to be so again, with odds of 3/1 but besides that potential suitors look thin on the ground. Barcelona are the only other name who could sign the Wolves man permanently, but their odds have drifted to 14/1.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (16/1)

Once one of the bright stars of English football, the midfielder has struggled for game time at the Reds since a knee injury suffered in 2018 and is sure to be making a move this summer in a bid to revive his career.

Aston Villa and West Ham are thought to be the leading candidates for his signature alongside former club Southampton, but these clubs will only be able to offer a similar role to the England international.

Given his experience, it could well be a shrewd signing for a player who is a versatile midfielder who also has experience playing in wide positions high up the pitch.

Conor Gallagher (14/1)

The 22-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a stellar debut Premier League campaign on loan from Chelsea at Crystal Palace, scoring eight goals from his box-to-box role.

It remains unclear as to whether Thomas Tuchel will provide him with first-team opportunities next season at Stamford Bridge, meaning that Premier League clubs are likely to swoop for the Blues academy product.

Palace are the favourites to sign the loanee, with odds of 9/4 but there are thought to be a host of Premier League clubs circling for a player who made is England debut in the autumn and is set to have a stellar career at the top of the English game.

Dwight McNeil (16/1)

Burnley's relegation from the Premier League will have come to a shock to many given their five solid years in England's top tier. However, it is a chance for many to capitalise on the opportunity to sign any number of solid players.

One of the more exciting names on their books is left-winger Dwight McNeil, the 22-year-old is a direct left-footer and an old school winger capable of finding a cross into the box.

He could be the man to unlock Patrick Bamford's form of old, but could also come at a price given his age and the interest coming from clubs such as Aston Villa and Everton.

Maxwell Cornet (16/1)

Another of Burnley's relegated contingent, Cornet has enjoyed a solid first season in England, scoring nine goals in 26 games and finishing as the Lancashire club's top scorer.

There appear to be a host of names in the running for his signature with West Ham, Everton and Newcastle said to be in the running alongside European giants in the form of Atletico Madrid, Marseille and Arsenal.

However, given his impressive start to life in England and his ability to play across a range of attacking roles odds of 16/1 suggest that a move could well materialise.

Ryan Kent (8/1)

After an impressive season at Rangers, where he helped guide the Glasgow club to a Europa League final it could well be the season that the winger makes a move south of the border for a new challenge.

His current side would not command a large fee given the financial constraints of the Scottish league, making any potential signing a cheap one for a player who is one of the stronger links on this list.

He would be competition for Rodrigo, playing on the right wing and cutting onto his left and the club face competitors in the form of Wolves, Everton and Leicester for his signature.

Takumi Minamino (2/1)

The Japanese international is one of the stronger links on this list, with odds of 2/1 for a move to link up with his former Salzburg manager Marsch.

They enjoyed a fruitful time together at the Austrian club, and after a ten goal haul across all competitions for the Reds this season the winger would be a good signing.

He is sure to be in the hunt for first team action this season after a couple of years playing a backup role on Merseyside and his links to the Leeds coaching staff make this a strong bet ahead of the summer transfer window.
