Leeds Santa Dash 2022 route, how to sign up and fundraising info

The Big Leeds Santa Dash is back this weekend where a sea of Santas will run 5km for charity.

The Christmas event grows more and more popular every year and is said to be hilarious fun. The event will once again be raising money for St Gemma's Hospice and will take place this weekend on Sunday, December 11.

Those taking part dress up as Santa and are awarded with a medal and a chance to meet Rudolph the reindeer at the finish line. Adults and children can take part, and signing up is still available.

Most participants sign up online beforehand, however the online entry has now closed. The good news is that regardless, people can still take part at last minute by turning up on the day.

A spokesperson for the event said: "We'll be accepting sign-ups on the day so pop down early on Sunday 11th to book your place."

Cost and sponsorship

The Santa Dash is coming back to Leeds next year (St Gemma's Hospice)

Ticket prices:

  • Adult - £12
  • Child - £6
  • Family ticket - two adults and two children - £30
  • Adult group ticket - four adults - £42

There is no minimum sponsorship requirement for the event but participants are asked to try and raise as much money as possible for St Gemma's Hospice. Any ages and abilities are encouraged to take part. Dogs are also welcome.

Where it will take place

The event will take place in Leeds city centre. The runners will start from outside Pret A Manger in Lands Lane and lead through the city centre for 5km.

It starts at 9am and lots of people will be taking to the streets to cheer on the Santas dashing.

How to get a Santa suit

There will be a supply of Santa suits available for those who sign up to the event, however participants are encouraged to wear their own on the day where possible to reduce waste.
