Leeds Rhinos target Luke Hooley under investigation after biting allegation

Batley Bulldogs fullback and Leeds Rhinos target Luke Hooley could face a ban that would see him miss the early stages of 2023 after being referred to an investigation for an allegation of biting.

The Disciplinary Match Review Panel cited Hooley for biting in the Bulldogs' 22-20 away victory over Dewsbury Rams in the Heavy Woollen Derby and could face a ban of up to 12 matches if found guilty by the Operations Tribunal.

Hooley has been one of the Championship's best young players for the past two years. He has been a key cog in a Batley side that has punched above its weight, with the Bulldogs reaching the play-off semi-finals last year and currently fourth in the Championship this term.
