Leeds Rhinos star confirms amazing news with new child on the way

Leeds Rhinos winger Ash Handley and his partner have announced they are due to have a baby in August of this year.

Homegrown star Handley posted the news on Instagram alongside his partner Harriet and was soon congratulated by many of his team-mates and members of the wider rugby league fraternity.

The 26-year-old posted two pictures of him and his girlfriend Harriet Ford and a third picture of a scan of their baby accompanied by the words: “Baby Handley. August 2022.”

Rhinos team-mate Jack Walker, whose partner is also currently pregnant, replied to Handley’s post, saying: “Congratulations to you both.”

Leeds back-rower James Donaldson added: “Congrats guys.”

Other current and former players such as Jack Broadbent, Adam Cuthbertson, Konrad Hurrell, Keith Galloway, Cameron Smith, Callum McLelland, Danny Walker and Danny Addy also posted messages of congratulations.

Leeds-born Handley has proved a popular figure at Headingley since coming through the ranks and making his debut against London Broncos in 2014.

It is hoped that a successful season for Richard Agar’s men could earn him inclusion in England’s World Cup squad later this year.
