Leeds Rhinos' reserve game abandoned as club offers update on serious injury

Leeds Rhinos' reserve grade game with Wigan Warriors was abandoned due to a serious injury sustained by Toby Warren. The incident took place during the second half of the clash but was called off following the incident.

The two teams were tied at 16 apiece when the incident occurred in the 55th minute of the contest. Tom Nicholson-Watton, Sam Walters and Luis Roberts had scored the Rhinos' tries in the game. But with the first-team clash set to kick-off and the severity of the injury to consider, the game didn't get its conclusion.

In an update the Rhinos confirmed that Warren would go to hospital for a precautionary check-up. They tweeted: Tonight’s Reserves game was abandoned after an injury to Toby Warren. Toby has gone to hospital as a precaution to get checked over but was talking to team mates before he left. A big thank you to @WiganWarriorsRL & match officials for their help and our well wishes go to Toby."

Warren joined the club last year from York on a four-year contract after impressing for both the reserves and academy. He has yet to make his first team debut but is still only 19. Derrell Olpherts, Corey Johnson and Leon Ruan were also part of the side.
