Leeds Rhinos player ratings as David Fusitu'a excels in promising performance

Richie Myler - 6 : Defensively has been way better since a nightmare start against Warrington and was good in that department again. But he's largely anonymous in attack at present, for whatever reason. Though his cut-out ball for the second Fusitu'a try was a beauty. Came up with a handling error in his own ten that put his team under pressure.

David Fusitu'a - 8 : It's always felt as though if he could get a run of games together he'd be OK. This was a good performance again, carrying well, looking assured defensively, finishing his try well and doing superbly to assist Newman's.

Ash Handley - 5 : Came off midway through the first half having had minimal impact on the game.

Nene Macdonald - 7 : Again looked dangerous with the ball, producing a break that should have ended in a Wakefield sin bin after Bentley was pulled back. Defended well, forcing Taufua from the field in the first half. Did come up with a handling error and penalty while in possession for an obstruction. Got a deserved try.

Derrell Olpherts - 4 : Didn't have a great night. He dropped a ball on tackle one and while he ran plenty of metres, most were sideways.

Blake Austin - 5 : His execution was all over the place first-half. Improved second half and came up with a nice kick for the Newman try.

Aidan Sezer - 7 : Another decent display without anything too spectacular. His running game on show and good defensively with an excellent cover tackle to deny Taufua late on.

Tom Holroyd - 7 : Really increasing in value to this team. Two solid stints again in which his physicality shone through.

Jarrod O'Connor - 7 : Played the best part of 70 minutes, made a heap of tackles and brought people into play well throughout.

Zane Tetevano - 6 : Steady away. Nothing spectacular, but OK.

Rhyse Martin - 6 : Got through his work without setting the world alight. Missed two conversions, which is unusual for him.

James McDonnell - 6 : Steady again. Has some subtle footwork that will catch defenders out. Rarely misses a tackle.

Cameron Smith - 6 : Like many others, did what he needed to do, and that was OK. Didn't need to do much more than that.

Sam Lisone - 7 : Used as an impact sub and seemed much better suited to the shorter stint. Enormous carries that flattened defenders. Did get caught out defensively for a line break Wakefield made.

Sam Walters - 6: Not quite as explosive as last week but did produce some good carries in and amongst. Rohan Smith has a tough decision to make with his props next week when Justin Sangare returns.

Harry Newman - 7 : Headingley erupted when he crossed, two minutes after coming in. He reminded everyone, not that he needed to, how good he is.

James Bentley - 6 : Ran his blood to water on return and will be much better off for this.
