Leeds Rhinos only able to name 19-man squad for huge Hull KR showdown

Leeds Rhinos coach Rohan Smith has only been able to name a 19-man squad for Friday night's monumental Super League clash with play-off rivals Hull Kingston Rovers. Injuries and suspensions continue to hit Smith's selection plans hard, with the Rhinos coach unable to name a full compliment of 21 players.

The Rhinos have lost three more players to suspensions, with Rhyse Martin, David Fusitu'a and Aidan Sezer all missing following incidents during the win over Salford on Sunday that resulted in them receiving bans. It leaves Smith incredibly light on options once again.

Youngsters including Liam Tindall and Jack Sinfield come into the picture with Smith short on numbers, as the Rhinos look to maintain their excellent recent form and take another significant step towards securing a top six finish.

They are at least boosted by the return of half-back Blake Austin, who has been sidelined with an injury in recent weeks. He will likely be a direct replacement for Sezer, who is banned following a trip incident against Salford.

The big news for Rovers is that fullback Lachlan Coote remains absent following a head knock suffered in the defeat at Wigan Warriors. There is a triple boost elsewhere though, as former Leeds great Ryan Hall returns alongside Kane Linnett and half-back Mikey Lewis.

Leeds Rhinos 19-man squad: Harry Newman, Liam Sutcliffe, Ash Handley, Blake Austin, Mikolaj Oledzki, James Bentley, Zane Tetevano, Brad Dwyer, Richie Myler, Cameron Smith, Bodene Thompson, Morgan Gannon, Sam Walters, Jarrod O'Connor, Corey Johnson, Muizz Mustapha, Liam Tindall, Jack Sinfield, Zak Hardaker.

Hull KR 21-man squad: Ben Crooks, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Ryan Hall, Matt Parcell, George King, Kane Linnett, Matty Storton, Jez Litten, Elliot Minchella, Jimmy Keinhorst, Mikey Lewis, Rowan Milnes, Will Maher, Ethan Ryan, Sam Wood, Greg Richards, Frankie Halton, Will Tate, Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e, Zach Fishwick, Connor Barley.
