Leeds Rhinos consider James Bentley appeal after being handed three-match ban

Leeds Rhinos could appeal James Bentley's three-match ban after he was charged with a Grade C high tackle charge.

The forward was dismissed 16 minutes into his Rhinos debut and is now facing a suspension that will see him miss a chunk of the season.

However, the Rhinos are currently considering their options and could yet appeal the grading of the ban in an attempt to get the ban reduced.

A decision is likely to be made today.

"We'll have a look," head coach Richard Agar said.

"We'll go through the process and see how the other tackles have been graded and the wording of the letter we've received.

"It's always good to get Paul Cullen's opinion. We wouldn't make a frivolous challenge and if we feel we've enough hard evidence we'll have a look at it but only if we have that evidence."

The Rhinos will accept Brad Dwyer's ban and as a result, they recalled Corey Johnson ahead of Friday's clash with Wigan Warriors.

The hooker had actually been named in Bradford Bulls' matchday squad for their match with Leigh last night, only for the Rhinos to recall him after receiving confirmation of Dwyer's ban.
