Morgan Gannon will return to the field this week after Rohan Smith confirmed he would feature for Leeds Rhinos' reserves side. The teenage talent hasn't featured for almost two months after suffering a concussion in round two.
After also suffering a heavy head knock in last year's play-off victory over Catalans Dragons, an injury that saw him miss the Super League Grand Final, the Rhinos had decided to delay his return to action in order to enhance his recovery.
But he will now make his comeback on Friday when Leeds's reserve outfit takes on Hull FC in a curtain raiser ahead of the Super League fixtures between the two teams. Smith didn't go as far as saying how long the back-rower would play but confirmed he would feature in the contest.

Gannon, who also played in the halves during the off-season, has been training for several weeks and has passed all the protocols in place when a player suffers a concussion.
His return will be another boost for the Rhinos, who are relatively healthy eight games into the season. Gannon will provide even more competition in the pack. James McDonnell has impressed during his spell in the side while James Bentley and Rhyse Martin are also specialist back-rowers. James Donaldson is also in contention and Zane Tetevano has produced some of his better performances playing wider.
The reserves game kicks off at 5:30, before the first-team start at 8 PM.
