Leeds mum's Christmas rampage as she crashes into house and urinates on floor in 'affair revenge'

A woman drove her car into a wall and damaged a family's front door in a Christmas revenge attack carried out because her dad had an affair ten years earlier.

Amy Paine had been drinking when she got into her Ford Mondeo car on Christmas Day last year and drove to Primrose Hill in Leeds. She attended the family home of a woman who it was suggested had had an affair with her father ten years earlier and set upon trying to get inside.

Prosecutor Hana Ahmed told Leeds Crown Court on Friday: The defendant had been forced from the address by the woman's husband and he had some scratches to her arms. It is the Crown's case that she has on two occasions attacked the home address of the family."

The court heard the mum-of-three drove her car into a wall at the property and also caused damage to the front door. Ms Ahmed said: "The first collision caused minimal damage and the second attack caused damage to the garden wall, the door and the door frame. The defendant has also used rubble and destroyed the wall and smashed the windscreen of the family car."

Ms Ahmed said the total cost for repairs was £4,615. She said the incident lasted 25 minutes before police arrived and Paine was arrested. The court heard the purpose of the attack was for "revenge."

Paine was taken to hospital as she had suffered scratches during the incident. While at the hospital, she urinated in the public treatment room, resulting in a second criminal damage charge.

The court was provided with victim impact statements from a woman and her daughter who lived at the address in Primrose Hill. The woman said her sleep has been affected, as has her work as a child minder as "when taking a child out she is having to look over her shoulder." She said it had also impacted her socialising and she has found herself not going out with friends as much.

Her daughter said the incident has impacted her studies and social life and she has experienced anxiety and sleepless nights.

The court was told Paine had no previous convictions and had pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage and one of dangerous driving at the Magistrates' court.

His Honour Judge Batty told the court Paine's pre-sentence report "made for sad reading" and he said: "There are a lot of issues in her life but the principle of a revenge attack to bash into someone's house crosses the custody threshold."

He told Paine: "Obviously, a lot of things happened to you in your short life, particularly when you were younger and there are a lot of issues that are still unresolved. This relates to issues from years ago and on Christmas Day you took on board too much to drink, something that is causing you problems.

"You do have cautions and all of them involve you misbehaving when you've had too much to drink and recently you have sorted that out and I want that to continue."

He made Paine the subject of a six months sentence suspended for a year. During that time she will be subject to an alcohol abstinence requirement which will be electronically monitored. She was also ordered to undertake 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay a surcharge of £128.
