Leeds Met Office weather forecast as River Wharfe and River Aire levels still dangerously high

Much of Yorkshire is bracing itself for further possible bad weather while the county deals with the aftermath of Storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin.

A yellow weather warning is in place for some parts of Yorkshire on Wednesday.

And the Environment Agency has warned people in Leeds may not yet have seen the end of flooding.

The River Aire and the River Wharfe have both flooded in the past few days, and water levels remain high.

In a statement released earlier today, the Environment Agency said: "River levels in the upper Wharfe are responding to recent rainfall and we expect lower Wharfe levels to rise again this evening.

"These levels will not be as high as we have experienced in recent days.

"Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wharfe, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the lower River Wharfe and tributaries from Ilkley to upstream of Ullerskelf."
