Leeds are not set to appoint a permanent successor to Jesse Marsch until after playing Manchester United this weekend.
The Manchester Evening News understands a permanent appointment at Elland Road is instead due to be made next week, after Sunday's clash between Leeds and United, which is the second game between the two sides in a week.
Marsch was sacked on Monday afternoon and the club's Under-21 coach Michael Skubala has since taken caretaker charge.

The American left his position at Leeds with the club 17th in the table and he lasted less than 12 months in West Yorkshire.
After his dismissal, caretaker Skubala oversaw Leeds' draw at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, a game in which his side took a 2-0 lead before goals from Marcus Rashford and substitute Jadon Sancho ensured the points were shared.
Sources have indicated that Skubala will be in charge again on Sunday, as United make the trip to Elland Road.
United claimed a 4-2 victory at Elland Road in February last season and Marcelo Bielsa was sacked a week after that result.
