Leeds Festival fire horror as two men lose all their belongings after their tent is burnt down

Two men were left devastated after their tent was burnt during the middle of the night at Leeds Festival and all of their property destroyed.

A woman that works for a charity called Festival Angels on the site has told in a video how the two "young men" came to her last night after their tent was burnt down at 4am this morning (Friday).

In the video clip the woman, named as Jo, says: "Everything that they had was gone.

"We managed to give them a tent, something to sleep on, sleeping bags. We gave them a Festival Angels mug and encouraged them to go to Oxfam to buy a new set of clothes."

She said that members of the Christian charity prayed for the two men and added: "They were very sad but hopefully they'll cheer up once they've had some sleep and realised that they can come back. We've asked them to come back and let us know if they need anything else at all. We're here to help out when they can"

The video was shared by Debra Greene OBE, who is the founder of ROC Angels, which is the umbrella organisation for around 100 local projects working within the night-time economy, at major events such as music festivals or within communities across the UK and in America, Spain, Seychelles, Australia and Brasil.

Debra has previously posted that over 170 volunteers are helping out at Leeds Festival 2022, which is taking place this weekend and is to be headlined by The 1975, Dave and Arctic Monkeys.
