Despite the dry weather over the Easter weekend, Leeds is set to see heavy rain on Easter Monday.
There will a mixture of light and heavy rain spells throughout the day starting from 7am but this should clear before the nighttime. The Met Office predicts that the bank holiday will also be breezy, saying: "Rain clearing to occasional heavy showers. Breezy."
The rest of the week doesn't get much better in the north, with a long range forecast suggesting the weather will continue to be bleak and rainy, with potential for strong winds. However, the temperatures will remain higher than average for the time of year.

- 7am - 10am: The day will start with heavy rain and overcast conditions
- 10am - 8pm: The rain will ease off by 10am but there will still be showers of light rain throughout the day. It will remain partly cloudy with sunny intervals all day
- Nighttime: It will be partly cloudy and dry through the night

On Monday the weather in eastern and southeastern areas will start off dry, but the north and west will have a damp start to the day, with rain forecasted to push eastwards across the UK throughout the day. There will be sunny spell and showers in the west and some showers will be heavy.
It will be breezy with a risk of coastal gales in the north, and the northwest will see a period of unsettled weather of rain and strong winds through to the middle of next week. Weather will remain unsettled with periods of rain and strong winds in the north and west. Temperatures will be above average.
