Leeds Bradford Airport has seen consistent problems for months, with passengers missing their flights, trips being delayed and long wait times at security. LBA has previously said this is due to staff shortages, but there seems to be no end in sight for holidaymakers.
This week has brought further criticism from travellers at Leeds Bradford, with people saying the wait times are still an issue. Some passengers have reported waiting four hours to get through the airport.
Passengers took to social media to slam the airport, saying there is a lack of organisation amongst the staff.
One user on Twitter said: "@LBIAirport total disgrace tonight arriving into UK sat on tarmac for 1 hour and then sat on the bus for further 30 minutes. Disgrace"
One traveller jokingly said: "Anyone flying from Leeds Bradford airport for Christmas id suggest setting off now"
Another passenger referenced the airport to literal hell, tweeting: "Back in hell (Leeds Bradford airport)"
LBA has faced issues, but airline operators such as Ryanair and Jet2 have also had criticism from travellers due to delays and cancellations.
Last week, airline operator Jet2 spoke out on the chaos. Saying that staff shortages were not affecting their flights.
A spokesman for Jet2 told the Liverpool Echo: "We have not made any cancellations due to staff shortages and we are continuing to receive positive feedback from happy customers and independent travel agents thanks to our dedicated teams who are continuing to work tirelessly to provide the best customer service in the industry.
"We took action to recruit well ahead of the bounce back and as such we have a very visible uniformed presence (referred to as the Red Team) in our UK airports as well as in our main overseas airports and in resorts. This team are on hand, making an enormous difference in terms of assisting and guiding our customers through their journey with us.”
