Leeds Bradford Airport cancellations statement as flights disrupted by heavy snow

Flights are delayed and cancelled at Leeds Bradford Airport today (Fri) after heavy snow fell overnight.

A severe and rare amber weather warning remains in place today as snow continues to fall across Leeds. It means some flights have been delayed at LBA and others have been cancelled.

It is not clear how long the delays will last at this time. LBA has provided an update on the disruption, advising passengers to keep checking airline websites for further details.

At present, LBA remains open and functioning as normal, however due to the severe weather conditions, flight schedules continue to face disruption. LBA say they are working with airlines to ensure passengers can still travel safely.

A spokesperson for LBA said: "At present, LBA is open, however, adverse weather conditions have caused disruption to flight schedules."

LBA has asked passengers to check the website and local travel advice as the snowfall continues. Here is what the airport say passengers should look out for:

  • LBA is working with airline and airport partners to ensure passengers can still travel safely
  • Passengers should check with their airline or tour operator for the status of their flights
  • Passengers can also check our arrivals and departures page on the LBA website for live updates
  • Passengers should check local travel advice and Highways England for access to the airport and its surrounding roads
