Leeds Bradford Airport has faced a number of issues recently regarding delayed flights, cancellations and long waits at security. These delays and issues have been caused by staff shortages.
Today, a number of flights were delayed whilst issues with security continue. Despite this Leeds Bradford has recently announced they are selling more flights to Heathrow.
Leeds Bradford Airport tweeted, saying passengers can fly from LBA to Heathrow with Flybe, with a free security fast track. Fares will start at £39.99 and can be booked through the Flybe website.

However, the reaction online has not been positive from some. One user, replied to LBA's tweet saying: "You taking the p*ss @LBIAirport the amount of stress you are causing customers at the moment and you have the cheek to try and sell more flights!!!!"
LBA is offering the free fast track service with these new flights, but passengers have been reporting that the service isn't working as it should. The FastTrack service is intended to get passengers through security at a quicker rate, but due to the ongoing shortages, some people have faced very long wait times even with the FastTrack tickets.
Another user replied to the tweet, saying: "Or, if you need to get from Leeds to #Heathrow, set off walking and carry a heavy bag of cement. You will get there quicker than your journey though @LBIAirport security"
Another replied with: "What’s the point in fast track when Jet2 customers just get pulled out of queue in front of you and 2. You can’t even park or get to your airport in the early morning. Shambles of an airport and should never be allowed to expand"
Travellers on their way to the airport have taken to social media to ask how bad the delays are so they know what to expect. One person said: "hiii - what’s the queuing situation right now? We’re just heading there and wondering how bad we should expect it to be!"
LeedsLive has contacted Leeds Bradford Airport for comment.
