Leeds bin collection dates over the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday

The Jubilee Bank Holiday is fast approaching. Queen Elizabeth is celebrating 70 years on the throne, and with it, there will be celebrations up and down the country.

Leeds has a number of events happening, including street parties, Jubilee galas and festivals. However, as often happens with bank holidays, some services can be affected.

Leeds City Council yesterday issued an update regarding bin collections across the city. They said that despite the holiday, bin collections will still be going ahead this Thursday and Friday.

You can check your bin days using the Leeds GOV website by entering your postcode. Once you enter your details, the system will ask you to look up your address and provide a list of bin collection days in that postal area.

Black bin collection times will remain as normal, according to the website. This means that the day you usually put your bins out can stay the same, with no disruption to the service.

Leeds City Council made the announcement through their Facebook page: "Daily update: Jubilee Bank Holiday bin day reminder!

"Today we'd like to remind everyone that this Thursday and Friday, it's bins-ness as usual for our bin crews, and therefore collections will still be going ahead despite it being the Queen's Jubilee Bank Holiday."

You can also download the Leeds Bins app to search for your next collection or save a reminder to your calendar.
