Farsley has been named as the 'new Chapel Allerton' in the Sunday Times' Best Places to Live 2022 list.
Farsley and neighbouring Pudsey were described by judges as 'on the up'. It comes as nearby Ilkley claimed the coveted prize of the Best Place to Live in the UK.
Judges described Leeds as "a confusing patchwork" of suburbs with "good bits jostling with not-so-good bits right next door."

But two areas of the city were singled out for praise by the Sunday Times in its hotly anticipated Best Places to Live list, published in full today (Sun).
The judges wrote: "The regeneration of the traditionally unfavoured southern half (of Leeds) is due to get a boost from a planned new station near the White Rose Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, anyone looking for a lively Chapel Allerton-style village feel, only cheaper and in an actual village, should cast their eyes over Farsley.
"Sunny Bank Mills sets the tone. Pudsey is a leafier alternative." The guide named Leeds city centre as one of the best places to live in the UK, saying the pandemic has "given Leeds new life".
It cited the Everyman Cinema in Trinity Leeds, Leeds Playhouse and the Northern Ballet as cultural attractions with the Corn Exchange and Kirkgate Market also praised.
"Although Leeds is a compact city centre, it's not brimming with choice - student digs, flats in period conversions, and build-to-rent schemes, such as Headline," the guide says.
It describes the best address in the city centre as The Quays in Concordia Street.
Meanwhile, upmarket Ilkley bagged the top spot of the Best Place to Live in the UK. The town was praised for its top schools, interesting shops, spectacular scenery and convenient rail links.
