Lee Ryan to join Blue on new tour after avoiding jail for racially aggravated assault

Boyband Blue have announced they will be hitting the road in 2024 for a Greatest Hits Tour.

The All Rise singers, which includes members Duncan James, Lee Ryan, Anthony Costa and Simon Webbe, will be visiting a number of theatres across the UK and have teased that it will be an "intimate" affair where fans will have the chance to hear some of their biggest hits along with stories from their two decades in music.

The shows will also mark Ryan's first tour with the group following his sentencing for racially aggravated assault against a Black British Airways flight attendant.

Ryan, 40, was handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence last month after he was arrested following the incident in July 2022.

He was found guilty following a trial in January, having drunkenly told a Black cabin crew member, "I want your chocolate children," before trying to give her a kiss and grabbing her by the wrists. He later denied that he is racist.

The London-born star also recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD, which he said was "a lot" for him to "work through".

Speaking about the tour in a press release, Blue said: “As this is a theatre tour, we wanted it to have a different kind of feel – welcoming, more intimate with the chance to sing our biggest hits and share stories with our fans who have been with us for so many years now. We can’t wait to put this show together and get it out there!”

The tour will kick off in Liverpool on April 16 2024 at the Philharmonic, followed by an evening at the London Palladium on 19 April 19.

It will then take in dates in Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Gateshead, Nottingham, Ipswich, Wolverhampton, Portsmouth and Truro, before finishing at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on May 11.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday and are available at tourlink.to/Blue24.
