Lee Lynch reveals future goal for Coleraine after summer rebuild

Lee Lynch feels Coleraine are now starting to see the rewards of their summer rebuilding.

Lynch is one of ten players to arrive at The Showgrounds during the course of the season as Oran Kearney carried out major work on his squad.

It was always going to take time for the new players to bed in but Lynch now feels they getting near their best as they close in on their goal of securing silverware.

"I think when you sign a lot of players new it doesn't really click right away," he said.

"Our form showed that at the start of the season, even myself, we had to adjust to the way Oran wanted us to play.

"I think we're starting to see that now, we're starting to gel a lot more.

"We'll have a second pre season coming soon – boys are on long-term contracts, which is positive for everyone at the club.

"We all have a goal, the club has a goal, the owners have a goal – we want to be fighting on all fronts in all competitions.

"We're not just here to finish fourth or wherever we do end up finishing.

"We're still in the mix at the moment, we're in a League Cup final. We'll keep on growing, year on year."

It has been nip and tuck between the Bannsiders and Linfield so far this season with two goalless draws and a 2-0 win for the Blues last month.

Lynch feels Coleraine will have learned from their last trip to Windsor Park when they head there again on Sunday.

"It's been that way this between all the top six teams – very tight," he said.

"Linfield are a top side, we know it, but we went into the last game with a game plan.

"I think it worked well but we were disappointed, we need to put the ball in the back of the net.

"You can dominate the ball all you want or you can do well in the game but we still lost that game 2-0.

"But we've definitely come away with positives that we can take into the final.

"Hopefully on Sunday we can put the ball in the back of the net, we'll learn from last game and take it all into the final."
