Lee Johnson's future at Hibs is safe for now as the Easter Road manager enters a crunch triple-header.
Fans at the Leith club have been firing their fury at many members of the management system in the capital, including executive chairman Ron Gordon and chief executive Ben Kensell in the wake of a 3-0 derby loss at Hearts. A large summer recruitment drive hasn't gone to plan and they are on a run of nine defeats in 11 league matches.
It's claimed by the Edinburgh Evening News that despite rumours being fuelled that Gordon had given another manager his marching orders - having sacked Jack Ross and Shaun Maloney last season - that Johnson isn't going anywhere. But he is under 'intense scrutiny' and their next three games against Motherwell this weekend, a home match versus Dundee United and a Hearts rematch in the Scottish Cup are viewed as must-wins.
Hibs chiefs are also 'plotting an organisational shake-up behind the scenes in a bid to get the club back on an even keel.' Details are being finalised but they are 'considering a return to a structure similar to the one in place during Leeann Dempster’s tenure as chief executive.'
Johnson took aim at his players, recruitment, and decisions surrounding Ryan Porteous' contract in a fiery post-match press conference after a loss at Hearts. But he must now rally the troops to arrest a form slump.
He said: "I’m sick to death of the mediocrity. We need to move players out. This is a wonderful club full of potential with great fans, a good training base and a brilliant stadium, it deserves more."
