Lee Johnson makes big calls over Hibs summer transfers as he names team to face Clyde at Easter Road

Lee Johnson has handed two of his new summer recruits a start in his first competitive game as Hibs manager.

Goalkeeper David Marshall starts between the sticks and has been handed the captain's armband for the Premier Sports Cup clash with Clyde while Nohan Kenneh is also named in the starting XI in the number six role. Fellow summer recruits Aiden McGeady, Kyle McClelland and Lewis Miller have been named on the bench and could also make their debuts at Easter Road.

The new boss is without Momodou Bojang, Èlie Youan and Jair Tavares as they are waiting for their work permit approval, whilst Paul Hanlon, Kyle Magennis, Demetri Mitchell and Kevin Nisbet are all injured.

Following today's clash with Clyde the Hibees make the trip to face Falkirk on Tuesday night.

They then face Bonnyrigg Rose on the road once against next Sunday before rounding off the campaign against Greenock Morton.

A place in the top 16 is up for grabs and the least Johnson will expect of his new side ahead of the Premiership kick-off.
