Lee Johnson admits Hibs need to perform much better in games against the likes of Rangers with his side unable to show their 'composure or class' at Easter Road.
The Hibees boss praised the 'fantastic tribute' that was paid pre match to the late Ron Gordon who sadly passed away aged 68. It was the first time the capital boss had heard 'Sunshine on Leith' and the atmosphere helped his side off to a really good start. They came out the blocks flying and ended up ahead early doors thanks to a Connor Goldson own goal.
But they were pegged back almost instantly with James Tavernier converting from the spot after a VAR review for a foul on Ryan Kent. The Hibs boss has described the play being like a little like 'hot potato' with the ball with his side lacking composure to settle the game.

Antonio Colak netted twice with Fashion Sakala also on target as Michael Beale's men brought an end to the Hibees' seven game unbeaten run in emphatic fashion. Reflecting on the result and performance from his side, Johnson told the Hibs official website: “It was a great start buoyed from a fantastic tribute. I loved hearing the song, it was the first time I heard it, not in the circumstances I wanted to hear it, but I and the players enjoyed it.
"The atmosphere led to a really good start from us. We came out of the blocks, had a couple of chances, corners, and a wide free-kick which we ended up scoring from, which was well-worked, with a good delivery and good timing.
“We then needed a level of composure to settle the game; someone to put their foot on it, a striker to hold the ball up, midfielders to dictate and know the next move, and the defenders to be composed. We were a little bit scatty in our minds, it was hot potato with the ball, and we weren’t able to show that composure or class against a very good Rangers side.
“We gave them four goals, they had more chances than that, but we had some ourselves; Elie Youan went through and could’ve made it 2-2. We still carried a threat; however we need to perform better in these games.
“I’m very conscious that I want to move the club forward, show off our style in games like this. We do it in patches, but nowhere near enough.
“Senior players have to show more about what they’re about in these games and younger players need to grow up quick and not be naïve. We can’t make the mistakes we made today.
“I am disappointed, but I haven’t been too harsh on the players on the back of our run. Now we have 10 days to work on a game plan for Celtic.”
