Lee Johnson is confident Hibs will get their deal to sign Will Fish over the line by the end of the month.
The Manchester United youngster spent last season on loan in the capital and an agreement has been struck for him to return to the club.
But the move has been delayed by Fish’s inclusion in United’s squad for their pre-season friendly against Wrexham in San Diego on Wednesday.
Johnson is convinced the 20-year-old will be a Hibs player - but does not expect the defender signed and delivered until after Thursday’s Europa Conference League clash in Andorra.
Speaking after Friday night’s 2-1 friendly win over Groningen, Johnson said: “The likelihood is we’re getting Will Fish.
“Has a contract been signed? No. But have all the plans been detailed? Yes.
“I am very confident he’ll be with us come the 29th of July, I think it is.
“He’s playing a game for the Man Utd second XI, they need him for this other game.
“So at the moment we have to just wait, but it’s good.”
