Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon believes Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips would be a ‘good fit’ for the Gunners. Speculation surrounding the future of Phillips is set to intensify over the coming weeks as the season approaches its final stages.
The likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa and West Ham have all been linked with a move for Phillips, who has two years left to run on his current contract at Elland Road. Leeds, though, are keen to tie the 26-year-old down to fresh terms that are more reflective of his current status in the squad and his growing international stature.
Regardless of whether Leeds stay in the Premier League this season, interest in their key players is likely to be rife this summer. Raphinha has already been heavily linked with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool, however the Whites will be reluctant to lose both Phillips and the Brazilian.

Arsenal are likely to be in for a new midfielder in the upcoming transfer window as Mikel Arteta’s continues to build a promising young squad. Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are currently the Gunners’ first choice pairing, though their man back-ups Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi-Lokonga perhaps aren’t the standard of the men ahead of them.
Speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, Dixon spoke of how much he rates the 19-time capped England international and thinks he would be perfect for Arsenal’s current style of play.
He said: “I like Kalvin Phillips, I am a big fan. I think he would be a good fit. I just like the way he is an all-round [player].”
