Former Celtic head of recruitment Lee Congerton appears set to be appointed as Atalanta's new transfer chief.
The Welshman arrived at Parkhead in 2017 and has close links with Brendan Rodgers.
Congerton followed the Irishman to Leicester City and has previously held roles at Sunderland and West Brom.
He left the Foxes in December last year and according to Il Giorno is now ready to take up a new role at Atalanta.
Congerton was in the stands for their defeat to Roma at the weekend, and the 48-year-old is now expected to join the Serie A overachievers' recruitment team.
New American owner Stephen Pagliuca is looking to shake things up, with the new man to work alongside general manager Umberto Marino, sporting director Roberto Zamagna and the operations director Roberto Spagnolo.
However, his role is likely to mean the exit of technical director Giovanni Sartori who has been widely praised for his nous on the transfer market in recent years.
Having initially pushed toward the top of the table with youth products like Mattia Caldara, Andrea Conti and Franck Kessie, the Bergamo club sold those players to some of Serie A's giants.
Sartori was key in replacing them by looking to markets such as Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden and Atalanta have repeatedly qualified for the Champions League despite their budget being dwarfed by bigger sides.
Congerton's record at Celtic was generally seen as hit-and-miss, with the likes of Marvin Compper and Charly Musonda black marks against his name.
