Lee Chadwick reveals future plans ahead of Robert Bryczek at fight in Prague

Liverpool’s Lee Chadwick returns to the cage this weekend with a bout against Robert Bryczek at Oktagon 43 in Prague.

Nicknamed The Butcher, Chadwick enjoyed success as a middleweight, holding the Cage Warriors belt in 2017.

He has been fighting as a light heavyweight for his last few bouts but returns to the middleweight level to face Bryczek which he believes is where he’s at his best.

“I’ve had all my success at middleweight,” said Chadwick.

“At light heavyweight, I was still holding my own, I was beating top guys but they were naturally bigger and heavier, so I was making hard work of it.

“Middleweight is my chance to win another title and I’m looking forward to getting some top finishes at this level again.”

The Huyton-born fighter has had a difficult time of it in recent months. He lost his last bout against Modestas Bukauskas back in November last year and had to pull out of a bout with Robert Xavier at the end of December with a herniated disc.

Since then, Chadwick has been focusing on rehab and getting his weight back down to the middleweight level and now feels more ready than ever.

He said: “I can’t wait I’m at the best shape possible and I’m looking forward to getting back in the cage.

“It’s my first time over in Prague and it’s a big show, there’s going to be up to 20,000 people in the arena.”

The Butcher is 38 years old and has been a professional fighter for 17 years. He has set himself some goals before he throws the towel in on his career.

He said: “I want another title this year and I want to have fought as a pro for at least 20 years so I’ve got a few years left to do the best I possibly can do.

“That’s why I’ve come back down to middleweight and given it everything, the diet’s on point and there’s no stones unturned. I want to have a good run again at middleweight.”
