Former Leeds United midfielder Lee Bowyer believes that Whites manager Javi Gracia must simply stay in the Premier League in order to have a good chance at staying on at the club.
The Spaniard, who has already won three of his six games in charge and dragged Leeds up to 13th in the league table, is currently on a 'flexible' contract until the end of the season after his predecessor Jesse Marsch was sacked in early February.
With no guarantee that he'll still be in the job by the start of next season, Gracia has often deflected the question if asked about it in press conferences.

But his side's performances have been nothing short of excellent in most cases since his reign at Elland Road began just six weeks ago. However, Bowyer believes that good performances won't be enough to keep Gracia in the job and he must secure the club's survival at all costs if he is to stay in the dugout with the Whites.
"The proof is in the pudding," he told talkSPORT this morning after the Whites' win over Forest. "If they stay up, he’s the right man – but if they don’t, he isn’t.
"All he has to do is keep doing what he did last night. That’s the most-important thing, that they stay in the division."
