Keir Starmer didn’t hold back during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, delivering a stinging remark aimed at Nigel Farage and the Reform Party after MP Lee Anderson’s question about net zero. Anderson kicked off his questioning by getting a few laughs from the opposition benches, reported the Express.

“I come to the chamber every week to ask sensible questions,” he said with a grin, adding, “I expect sensible answers, and all I get are glazed over expressions and waffle from the opposite benches.” His lighthearted jab at the government sparked some chuckles, but things quickly got more serious.

He then got to the point, asking Starmer, “I want to ask the prime minister a very simple question, on behalf of all the net zero sceptics: if we became net zero tomorrow, by how much would it reduce the Earth’s temperature by?”

Starmer responded, not missing a beat. He explained that reaching net zero isn’t just about cutting emissions but presents a “huge opportunity” to boost the UK’s economy. But then, in a dig at the Reform Party MPs sitting across from him, he added, “They would have better ideas if they stopped fawning over Putin.”

The Labour leader wasn’t done there, taking another swipe at the Reform Party’s leadership. “I understand the member for Clacton wants to be prime minister – he can’t even lead a party that fits in the back of a taxi!” Starmer’s comment had the chamber in stitches, leaving Reform MPs looking less than impressed.
