After LeBron James sprained his ankle on Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans, it is not too surprising that he has been ruled out for today’s tilt between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks.
Following Sunday’s game, he admitted that his ankle felt “horrible.”
L.A. lost its contest against the Pelicans, which was a major blow to its chances of reaching the play-in tournament.
The Lakers now sit in 10th place in the Western Conference just half a game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs.
If L.A. doesn’t manage to win a decent number of its remaining games, the Spurs have a real chance of leapfrogging it in the standings and preventing it from participating in the play-in tournament.
According to Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, James will be reevaluated on Thursday prior to the team’s game against the Utah Jazz to see if he is able to play in that contest.
