Lakers star LeBron James thanked fans for the outpouring support regarding his eldest son, Bronny James, after the USC freshman was rushed to the hospital following a cardiac arrest in practice on Monday.
“I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang👑,” James tweeted.
The incident took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. PT Monday at USC’s basketball facility in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times. At the time, Bronny lost consciousness during the cardiac episode. Initially, USC’s medical staff gave Bronny treatment before he was placed in an ambulance and transported to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center at “Code 3, lights and sirens,” signaling an emergency response by medical personnel.

On Tuesday, a James family spokesperson issued a statement saying that Bronny was no longer in ICU and was in stable condition. The 18-year-old is still slated to undergo further testing to learn what caused the unexpected cardiac arrest, per TMZ.
Bronny, who was deemed the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by On3, committed to the Trojans earlier this year after finishing his senior season at Sierra Canyon. Last season, Bronny averaged 13.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
