Just over a week ago, the Los Angeles Lakers were just 3-5, and it looked like perhaps they weren’t nearly as good a team as they appeared to be on paper. But then LeBron James came to the rescue, as he has done so many times for his team over the years.
He had 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 10 to end L.A.’s three-game losing streak. He then had a triple-double versus the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday and back-to-back 30-plus point games on Friday and Sunday to give the team five wins in its last six contests.
In Sunday’s game, he poured in 37 points with eight assists in a 105-104 victory over the Houston Rockets. He had previously responded on social media to critics who still claim he came to the Lakers only to make movies and do other non-basketball activities. After Sunday’s game, he was asked about that social media post, and he said that sometimes he needs “to remind folks.”
LeBron James comments on the narrative that he came to the Lakers for off-court ventures.

James admitted just after the game that he was feeling under the weather while playing through a couple of injuries, including a calf contusion. But right now he is playing about as well as he ever has, even though he’s just over a month away from turning 39 years of age.
