LeBron James may have started sluggishly this season, but he has looked impressive and perhaps even ageless over the past month or so.
The now 38-year-old has averaged 31.9 points on 55.2% shooting, 7.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game over his last 16 games (he sat out Wednesday’s win over the Miami Heat due to a non-COVID-19 illness). More importantly, the Los Angeles Lakers, who struggled for much of December, have a three-game winning streak and have taken four of their last five contests.
The first voting returns for this year’s NBA All-Star Game are in, and James, as usual, is leading all players in his conference in voting.

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is the top vote-getter in the Eastern Conference. Interestingly, the injured Anthony Davis is the third-leading vote-getter among frontcourt players in the West, even though he has been out for nearly three weeks with a stress injury in his foot.
Prior to that injury, Davis was on an absolute tear, routinely putting up 30-point, 10-rebound games, and some even felt he was earning some consideration for the MVP award.
