Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will not play in Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, head coach Frank Vogel revealed prior to tip-off.
Vogel said James woke up with a sore left knee and tried to give it a go but ultimately is not available for this game. James will be considered day-to-day moving forward. The Lakers have a back-to-back Friday against the Charlotte Hornets, so it’s not clear yet if he’ll be better for that match.
James’ last missed game came on Nov. 30. Since Dec. 19, James has scored at least 25 points in 18 straight games, so the Lakers will definitely miss his wing presence against the Sixers.
Anthony Davis will play after being on a minutes restriction Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
