It was another move in the name of roster continuity and a youth movement while still looking to win an NBA championship now with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers are stocked with talent across their roster, and most consider them one of a handful of teams that could realistically walk away with the Larry O’Brien Trophy next June.

There had been rumblings this summer that James wanted L.A. to once again go after a third star such as his former championship teammate Kyrie Irving or his banana boat buddy Chris Paul.
