Some fans of the Los Angeles Lakers may not fully realize it, but LeBron James has been playing on an ailing ankle lately.
He has consistently been listed on the injury report with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy, yet he has missed only seven of the Lakers’ 56 games so far this season.
On Sunday, he participated in his 20th NBA All-Star Game, which is a new league record, and the long break before and after the contest will give him an opportunity to rest and recuperate.
However, James said that he has also been using the All-Star break to seek treatment options for his injured ankle (h/t Lakers Daily).
LeBron arrives at All Star with an injured ankle, says “I won’t be playing the entire game tonight for sure.” He adds that he’s been “seeking treatment” the past few days and will again over the remaining days of the break.

Despite not being 100%, he is averaging 24.8 points, 7.8 assists and 7.2 rebounds a game while shooting 52.0% from the field and 39.5% from 3-point range this season.
