LeBron James could achieve incredible milestone Sunday vs Suns

LeBron James is having a remarkable season, especially considering that he is 37 years old and has tons of mileage on him from 10 trips to the NBA Finals.

He scored 50 points on Friday to power his Los Angeles Lakers to a runaway win over the Washington Wizards, just six days after erupting for 56 points in a victory over the Golden State Warriors. As of now, he’s leading the league in scoring by a hair at 29.7 points per game.

Now, with L.A. facing the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, James is just two assists away from joining an exclusive statistical club – a club that’s so exclusive that he would become its only member.

With just two more dimes, the four-time champ will become the first NBA player to amass 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists in his career.

It would surely be a big and colorful feather in his cap when it comes to his argument for being perhaps the greatest basketball player of all time.

It’s a shame that James’ prolific season has come at a team when his supporting cast has been seriously lacking due to injury, poor roster construction and certain teammates not consistently playing up to their standards (we’re looking at you, Russell Westbrook).

But with just a few weeks left in the regular season and James’ first mate Anthony Davis perhaps getting closer to returning from a sprained foot, the Lakers still have a chance to shock the world, if they just find a way to make the playoffs.
