LeBron James claimed he heard about Warriors’ trade talks after the fact and NBA fans didn’t believe him

LeBron James and the Golden State Warriors were apparently this close to pulling off an unthinkable blockbuster trade at the deadline. An all-time great like James teaming up with an all-time great like Steph Curry at the respective twilight of their careers is the stuff of legend.

Yet, for a move that would’ve shaken the NBA to its core, James said that he wasn’t in on the conversation as much as anyone would believe.

Yeah, right.

During a conversation on Inside the NBA, James claimed that he learned about the Warriors’ trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers at roughly the same time as everyone else. There’s simply no way that’s true:

Do you mean to tell me the guy who was just recently sending messages through towels wasn’t knee-deep in discussions about his future?

No way, man. James absolutely understood the gravity of changing teams and almost certainly had input on whether he would head to Golden State. There is no way the man who is seemingly always thinking two steps ahead had no idea the Warriors were angling for him. No. Way.

For now, he remains a Los Angeles Laker. But no one is buying the diplomacy behind an almost-move that would’ve turned the NBA upside down.

NBA fans roasted LeBron James for apparently lying about Warriors' trade talks
