The game-worn “Icon Edition” Los Angeles Lakers jerseys of LeBron James and Bronny James — from the night they became the first father-son duo to appear in an NBA game together on Oct. 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves — are being auctioned at Sotheby’s through Dec. 4.
LeBron, Bronny James’ Los Angeles Lakers jerseys have a current bid of $70,000, the highest offer among 34 total bids
Based on 34 total bids, the current bidding for the pair of Lakers uniforms is $70,000. According to the Sotheby’s catalogue note, “due to a lack of media of Bronny without a warm-up jacket on, it is not possible to photomatch” whether the jersey was worn against Minnesota.
However, the auction site revealed that “‘First Game 2D Half 10/22’ is handwritten on the jock tag.” LeBron and Bronny first appeared on the court together with four minutes left in the first half of that matchup.
During the second quarter, LeBron checked into the game with Bronny. It was a memorable moment that may never be seen again in sports history. For the first time in NBA history, a father-son duo took the court together.
“That moment, us being at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, something I will never forget,” LeBron told reporters after the season-opening game. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment.”
Father-son duo played nearly 2 1/2 minutes together in the 2024-25 NBA season opener
LeBron, 39, and Bronny played almost 2 1/2 minutes together in the 20-year-old’s NBA debut. Bronny also wore the jersey during NBA Media Day on Sept. 30, 2024, where he was pictured alongside LeBron.
In the Lakers’ 110-103 win over Minnesota, LeBron finished with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. The 20-time All-Star officially joined Vince Carter as the only players in NBA history to play in 22 seasons.
Earlier this month, L.A. assigned Bronny to the South Bay Lakers, the team’s G League affiliate. The USC product has played no more than five minutes in a single NBA game thus far.
The Lakers host the Orlando Magic on Thursday night.
