Lebanon prop avoids ban after alleged testicle squeeze on Leeds Rhinos forward

Lebanon prop Kayne Kalache has avoided punishment after being accused by Leeds Rhinos forward James Bentley of grabbing his testicles. The incident took place during the Cedars' victory over Ireland which saw them take a huge step towards qualification to the quarter-finals.

The incident took place in the opening ten minutes of the contest, with Bentley left in severe discomfort following the alleged incident. Bentley made his feelings felt to the referee which resulted in the incident being checked out by the World Cup match review panel.

However, following analysis, Kalache has not been charged. In the minutes of the latest disciplinary meeting, it was decided that the footage available was inconclusive and couldn't determine exactly what had happened. The minutes read: "Footage inconclusive. Player appears to push off opponent to regain feet. Contact accidental."

It adds salt to the wounds of the Wolfhounds, who received three bans after the ill-tempered contest. Liam Byrne has received two bans, both worth one match, while Jaimin Jolliffe has also copped a one-match ban. The prop pair will now both miss the final group game against New Zealand. Bentley continued the game and will be in contention to face the Kiwis.
