The Lebanese University announced on Sunday that its campuses in three cities will be closed on Monday due to security concerns. The decision to suspend activities was made to protect the safety of students, teachers, and employees amidst the instability caused by the continuation of Israeli attacks.

Educational activities will be suspended in the cities of Sidon, Nabatieh, and Tyre in southern Lebanon. The university stated that it will provide updates to students based on the development of the situation.

The heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have led to their most intense exchange of fire since the October 7 attacks. The region was already on edge following explosions of wireless devices owned by Hezbollah members and the killing of a top commander in a strike on southern Beirut by Israel.
