Manchester United supporters have given mixed reviews to the ‘leaked’ home kit for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
United fans are looking forward to next season following a positive first campaign under Erik ten Hag’s management. The club won a first piece of silverware for six years in the form of the Carabao Cup before finishing third in the Premier League to secure a place in the Champions League.
With the ongoing takeover process giving hope of the Glazer family’s potential departure, there is a feeling of positivity at the club. It is amid this context that the home shirt for the 2023/24 season has been leaked online by Footy Headlines.
Pictures of the rumoured kit show what United fans can expect next season. It is based around the red rose of Lancashire, which features on the inside of the collar and forms the pattern of the shirt.
Team Viewer will remain as the front-of-shirt sponsor, while the black outline harks back to a popular kit from the 2002/03 season. Plenty of supporters like what they see.
“The black and the font of the names, so clean,” one wrote on Twitter. Another added: “This is a Premier League-winning kit”. “I'm definitely buying one... so fine,” tweeted another happy fan.

However, not everyone is happy with the design, though. “That top deserves a major trophy, but the sponsor looks awful,” one fan wrote. “Honestly, I prefer all of the fanmade design shirts.. @adidas you should have done better with the design,” commented another.
“This stinks. White one looks far better,” wrote one fan. “Another year, another s*** home kit smh,” added another.
Many of the replies refer to the possibility of Sheikh Jassim completing a takeover of United from the Glazer family. Lots of fans want the Qatari banker to be successful in his bid in order to oust the unpopular American family.
Were he to buy 100 per cent of the club’s shares then many have speculated that a sponsorship with a Qatari company, such as Qatar Airways, might be signed.
“Waiting for Qatar to take over then they will confirm our new kit for next season due to change of sponsors,” one fan wrote. “Replace ‘team viewer’ with Qatar Airways and we good,” another added.
United have finalised their summer programme of friendlies after announcing on Tuesday that they will take on Athletic Bilbao in their final clash before the 2023/24 Premier League season.
They will get underway on July 12 against Leeds in Oslo, before playing Lyon at Murrayfield a week later. Ten Hag’s side will then embark on a tour of America which takes games against Arsenal (July 22), Wrexham (July 26), Real Madrid (July 27) and Borussia Dortmund (July 31).
